We Need Help To Understand Ourselves

We need help to understand our weaknesses and protect ourselves in areas where we are vulnerable.  We also need help to know when we are crushing others with the abilities God has given to us and when our expenditures of others are unrealistic and harmful.

God’s Greatest Desire for His Children

Joy in Christ is perhap’s God’s greatest desire for his children.  He does not want us to admire ourselves; he wants us to cherish and long for his beloved Son.  His goal is to humble us and show us our great need for the ravishing gift he has provided.  Sinful weakness is one of the precious tools he uses to help us get there.

It’s No Fun to Be Weak

Most of us are experts at hiding our weakness.  It’s no fun to be weak, and we work hard to deny our weakness to ourselves and to hide it from others.  This is an enormous problem for us as Christians, and it causes chaos and pain in our own and others’ lives.
