As an excursus to quotes posted nearly daily, I’d like to dedicate this post to a high school classmate of mine who passed from this life to the next on Saturday. Mark’s funeral was today and it was an opportunity to see many old friends which was joyous. Yet it was the recognition that all life has an end and it does not matter how you live the days you are given by our creator but rather if you truly know (believe, revere, acknowledge, trust) Christ as not only Lord but the only Savior of your very life.
We add nothing to our position before Christ, we stand bankrupt before Christ unless we have pledged ourselves to Christ and freely receive the redemption of our sin debt before God. In the end, we will be found in the rags of a wretch that we are due to our sin or in the robes of righteousness due to the sinless perfection of Christ our Savior. If you wish to know more, feel free to reach out to me.
