Rewarded but not Earned

In speaking of rewards from God, the Bible is not saying that we earn salvation as a reward for our works. Early in the book of Ephesians, Paul clearly established that we are saved solely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and not by the contribution of any human works. He also impressed upon his readers that we’re  not saved by our good works but rather to our good works. Yet, he also expounded upon this theme, saying that good works are known and rewarded by God.
