Grab Your Weapon, Peace is Not an Option

Don’t make peace with the sin of your life.  If you make peace with sin and settle down with it as an accepted long-term partner, you show that you are not united with Christ.  In union with Christ, two things happen: His righteousness is imputed to us, and, because of that, a new impulse is given to become what we are.  The great gospel weapon in the fight for joy is the rock-solid reality that we are counted righteous in Christ by faith alone.

– Piper, John; When I Don’t Desire God: How to Fight for Joy; Crossway; Wheaton, Ill.; copyright  2004; p. 85
