The Storm in Jonah is not God’s Anger Manifested

When we first read this part of the story (Jonah 1), we typically assume the storm is Jonah’s punishment from God for his disobedience.  But the storm isn’t punishment’ its an intervention, brought on by God’s affection rather than his anger.
